‘СМИ: пленный террорист рассказал о подготовке боевиков для атак в Европе’
MOSCOW: RIA News reports – A terrorist captured by the Kurdish militia has revealed a secret cell of the Islamic State in Syria – which prepares militants for acts of terrorism in European territory, reports ‘The Times’.
According to the newspaper, this secret cell is called “Al Kharsa.” Europeans citizens who have entered it undergo rigorous training in a secret camp in Syria, after which they return for home. As part of the course, future terrorists learn how to assemble bombs, and are ideologically “pumped.”
“It takes seven months to be trained in al-Kharsa brigade. It is very hard. Every European who crosses the border to Syria, they are offered [the opportunity] to join. If 20 start the training, only five finish it. Then after that they go back to Europe and attack’ – says the publication, quoting the captured militant’s statement made during the interrogation.
In addition to this program, the cell also has a dedicated centre for coordination with potential terrorists within Europe itself.
“Sometimes there are foreigners who come to Syria and have training for specific missions. Then they do the attacks alone. Others are sleeper cells in Europe who want to join Isis here, but can’t. They stay in their countries and contact [Isis] … and when they are ready, they do the bombings” the prisoner said.
The newspaper reports that the militant, who has been in the ranks of IS for two and a half years, counted about 50 people from Germany, France, Belgium and Britain who successfully completed their training in the secret cell.
According to the captive, despite the terrorists suffering large losses in Syria, the secret cell continues its work. It was this very cell that trained the perpetrators of the attacks in Paris and Brussels, and is currently planning future strikes. “The terrorist attacks that took place in Paris and Brussels were carried out by terrorists who were trained by this unit and then left Syria for Europe … They will make more suicide attacks in Europe because the coalition is bombing them a lot. They also want to carry out attacks in Lebanon.” the prisoner concluded.
